This past Shabbos was the shloshim for Yeshiva Tiferes Moshe talmid Chaim Avraham ben Baruch Yisroel Jungreis a"h. His loss was strongly felt by his chaveirim and all the talmidim at the yeshivah. The boys in the Jr. High chose, on their own, to organize learning mishnayos l'iluy neshmaso. With the participation of so many of the students, they were able to accomplish finishing the entire shas mishnayos. A beautiful siyum was held in the yeshivah this past Sunday morning, immediately after Shacharis.

YTM talmidim were able to witness another aspect of Hashem’s amazing creations as the student body saw a near total eclipse from the roof of the Yeshiva building. It has been years since the last such event occurred in our area, and the next one will not take place for another 20 years!

YCQ marked Yom HaZikaron and Yom HaAtzmaut with meaningful and age-appropriate ceremonies. Due to the events of the past few months, this year’s activities were especially poignant and inspiring.

Last week was teacher appreciation week, and the teachers at HALB enjoyed special treats each day. They had a snack cart brought around to the classrooms by the administrators, coffee from the Cheese Store, pastries from Kayx, iced tea from Mom’s Pastries, lunch from Lollibop, and fresh personalized pies baked on the premises by The Pizza Bar. To all our HALB teachers: Thank you for all you do every single day!

Monday marked the day that the international Jewish community commemorated Yom HaZikaron: a day that was perhaps more solemn and meaningful than ever before. MTA talmidim can all relate to the current matzav in Eretz Yisrael. Many were in Eretz Yisrael on October 7, and since their return have heard many speakers who add to the talmidim’s understanding and appreciation of what is happening now. Everyone is living through the War of Iron Swords and is acutely aware of the rise in anti-Semitism everywhere, including their own neighborhoods.

Mrs. Senft’s sixth graders at Yeshiva Tiferes Moshe have been studying their coursework with intensity. Students have been working to simplify expressions, solve one step equations, and apply the skills obtained to resolve word problems as well. This past week, the students were treated to a park trip and 7-Eleven Slurpees. Special mention goes out to the classes who received touching compliments from several passersby who noticed their excellent behavior and helpfulness; your teachers are so very proud!
