It’s almost Pesach, so much to plan, so much to prepare. On our to-do list is purchasing wine for the seder.  Some like it sweet, others appreciate the dry wine taste.

The connoisseurs amongst us are busy selecting their bottles, and for some it means a different choice for each of the Arba Kosos, the Four Cups.

They leave through a back window, and Jordie says they should go to Zevi’s aunt’s house. When they get there, she was expecting them. Jordie explains that his parents are part of an Israeli intelligence anti-terrorism group, and Zevi’s parents went to Israel to help. Zevi has a brown envelope with important information and an FBI agent is coming to get it. Someone from the terrorist group must have found out about the envelope, and that’s why they had to leave the house.

Depression is the most common of all psychiatric illnesses. It is estimated that at any one time worldwide, 300m—400m people suffer from depression. Depression cuts across all socioeconomic and racial barriers. Like most medical illnesses, we are learning that depression sometimes has a genetic component. Social and personal factors also play a role, but you often find that depression will run in families. Most depressions come with a certain amount of anxiety, which is why anti-depressants treat both depression and anxiety. Like most illnesses, depression can be seen as a spectrum, and those depressions can sometimes be treated with ECT in a hospital. Today, ECT is nothing like the ECT seen in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.  ECT is a safe and effective treatment for depression with minimal side effects.

 New York City and its surrounding area experienced a significant earthquake followed by multiple aftershocks. The initial quake measured 4.8 on the Richter scale, striking near Gladstone, New Jersey, and was followed by a 3.8 magnitude aftershock.
