During a special challah bake, the seventh-grade girls had an inspiring and meaningful experience at Rebbetzin Jaeger’s house. Surrounded by the warm atmosphere of her home, the girls learned the step-by-step process of making challah, from kneading the dough to braiding it with care.
Junior high school students at SINAI at YCQ took a trip to New York City’s Roosevelt Island as part of a lesson on American history and transportation. In one day, they rode school buses, ferries, the subway, and the Roosevelt Island Tramway and had a blast doing it!
Parshah came alive this week in Yeshiva Tiferes Moshe’s Pre-1A! The boys learned the important midah of chesed from Rivkah Imeinu and how we need to try to emulate this midah in our own lives. After discussing what a well was and how it works, the boys used a play well made from wood, a bucket, and a real pulley system!
Students of Mrs. Senft’s sixth grade class at Yeshiva Tiferes Moshe worked in groups to problem-solve making different numbers of squares with 12 popsicle sticks. Each student was only allowed to hold and move three sticks, to make the task challenging, as well as to focus on teamwork. Additionally, the task excelled at helping the boys work on problem-solving.
The Bnos Malka 4th grade girls celebrated starting to learn Navi! They were treated to a delicious breakfast of cereal and waffles. They each received a special bencher in honor of the occasion, and played a game of bingo, with the theme of Navi. They then decorated scrumptious brownies, using different candies to create a scene from the Navi. It was so much fun and such a special event!
As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, the faculty, staff, and students at the Yeshiva University High School for Girls (Central) are reflecting on gratitude – the people, places, and events for which they are most thankful this school year. At the top of the gratitude list: the faculty members who work tirelessly to guide and mentor Wildcats all year round and on all fronts, from the classroom to the court to the stage.
