The third grade talmidos of the Bnos Malka Academy held their annual Rashi Breakfast. After the students have completed learning “Rashi Script” they celebrate the momentous occasion with a special breakfast. The students were privileged to hear from Rabbi Weichselbaum, the Menahel, speak about his experiences walking in Rashi’s footsteps literally. Rabbi Weichselbaum spoke about how learning Rashi is integral part of learning and understanding Torah, and it is a skill they will use for the rest of their lives.

Mrs. Rivky Babad, the elementary school assistant principal, explained, “We strive to provide a rigorous and exciting academic education. Alongside the academics, we also put a strong emphasis on midos tovos and personal growth. These lessons are interwoven throughout the academic curriculum, through lessons from Chumash, Parshah, and Yahadus, and stories and other activities in the limudei chol department, as well.”

So much time and effort went into producing the SKA school video that all the students were thrilled to finally view the finished version. But in a real “v’nahafoch hu,” the video shown actually introduced the Color War ’22 breakout on Tuesday, February 8!

Central has the unique opportunity of being part of the Yeshiva University family. Last week, the Senior class had the opportunity to visit the Beren Campus at Stern College in Midtown Manhattan, followed by a visit to the YU Seforim Sale, in Washington Heights at the Wilf Campus. They were welcomed at the Stern Beren campus with a tour, a student panel featuring Central alumnae, and lunch. The students really enjoyed the opportunity to see former Central students and ask them questions about what their experience has been like at Stern College. This trip provided them with insight on what the college experience at YU is really like,” said Mrs. Rena Boord, Director of College Guidance at Central.
