Following the enactment of the 2024-25 Fiscal Year New York State Budget, State Senator Michael Gianaris and Assemblymember Andrew Hevesi announced the inclusion of $70 million for Nonpublic School Safety Equipment (NPSE) grants, to enhance school safety at religious and independent schools across New York.
The yearly National Shomrim Kaddish Memorial Service was held this past Monday, May 13, at the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, DC, in the presence of members of the Israeli Police. Rabbi Tzvi Berkowitz, Founder of Project Talmai, was joined by Patrick Yoes, President of the National Fraternal Order of Police, and their chaplain, Rick Snyder.

Yeshiva University is proud to celebrate its 2024 graduates, more than 1,700 future leaders of society, at its 93rd annual commencement ceremony. At the commencement on May 29th, Yeshiva University will award its highest honor for global leadership, the Presidential Medallion, to U.S. Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania. During these challenging times, the leadership, service, and moral clarity of this American patriot and hero of Israel has been a beacon of hope and strength for the country and the world.
This past Sunday, a large giveaway of diapers, wipes, and baby formula were given out in Kew Gardens Hills from Assemblywoman Nily Rozic’s office. It was due to a joint partnership of Congresswoman Grace Meng, Assemblywoman Nily Rozic, and the Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty. Assisting with the giveaway was Shalom Ima, headed by Mazal Matayev. So many young families came and were so appreciative.
On Thursday evening, May 16, the Navigating the Medical System Lecture Series featured a virtual lecture with Monhit Shukla, MD, FACR, attending rheumatologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, hosted by Congregation Etz Chaim.
