Historic Centennial celebration to recognize philanthropists Chella Safra and the Wilf family and celebrate YU’s growth, success, and enduring impact

Yeshiva University’s celebration of 100 years of Hanukkah Dinners was announced last week. This historic event honors a century of past YU success, including its recent accomplishments, growth of its academic programs, and expansion of its global leadership following the events of Oct. 7. With an immersive program that captures the giants of the past generation who were honored by YU, including Albert Einstein, Jonas Salk, Golda Meir and John F. Kennedy, the evening will both transport participants through the decades and look forward at the bright future ahead.

Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz held a touching Veterans Day Ceremony Friday, November 8, at Elmhurst Park’s Queens Vietnam Veterans Memorial at 79th Street and Grand Avenue. The annual event is her opportunity to express our borough’s deep gratitude, debt, and appreciation for the heroic men and women who have served in the United States Armed Services, sacrificing for our freedoms.

Every Yid must develop an awareness and a mindset that recognizes all the good that one receives and appropriately thank the Giver/giver. One of the ways in which we demonstrate our thanks to Hashem is by reciting Psalm 100 – Mizmor L’Sodah – in our weekday morning prayer service.
