Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after she claimed that the United States “is running concentration camps on our southern border,” in which it criticized her decision to invoke Holocaust-related terminology as part of a political debate (The full text of the letter appears below).
More than 125 friends and supporters of OHEL Children’s Home & Family Services joined the 15th Annual OHEL Rosemil Healthcare Golf & Tennis Classic. Drive Out Stigma was the event slogan, mirroring OHEL’s mission of 50 years of breaking down various stigmas in the community.
“Home is where the heart is” is often used to describe what really matters when putting down roots. For Rabbi Michael Fuzaylov and his wife Dina, “the heart” is being with Emet students. The couple and their young family recently moved from Kew Gardens to Forest Hills. It was not the typical move – usually driven by the need for more space or to be closer to family and friends. In fact, the Fuzaylovs did the opposite. They left their comfortable existence in a community they loved, all to be able to share the beauty of Shabbos and Yom Tov with Emet students.
Rabbis from across the Orthodox spectrum came together for a kinus Torah (Torah conference) on the second day of Shavuos at Congregation Machane Chodosh in Forest Hills.
