Dear Editor:

The Jewish community has had a strong ally and voice in government through Assembly Member Daniel Rosenthal. Daniel has proven to be the fierce advocate and effective leader we need in these challenging times. This election will be a pivotal moment for our city, and Daniel Rosenthal is the right person to be our representative in the Assembly.

Dear Editor:

The Queens Shofar Blowing Initiative was a great idea. It serves a purpose whether there is a pandemic or not. Let’s publicize it a bit better and institute it every year! I blew in shul and five different times throughout the day. Baruch Hashem, this year will be a great year for klal Yisrael!

Dear Editor:

To my neighbors and friends in our community here in Queens, I wish to bring to your attention this November. We need to vote for change in our community; our elected representatives have sold us out. None of them came to our help when de Blasio and Cuomo anti-Semitically targeted us; they have stood against our interests and have sold us out to the far left.

Cancel Culture Comes To Orthodoxy: A Response

Dear Editor:

I was bewildered by Rabbi Schonfeld’s critique of the Modern Orthodox world: “Cancel Culture Comes to Orthodoxy” (August 6 edition).  I am squarely in the cohort that Rabbi Schonfeld maligns: in my mid-to-late 20s and married with two young children.  A graduate of Yeshiva University, I grew up in the New York area, and I identify as Modern Orthodox.  Yet I have not witnessed nor heard of the “cancel culture” he decries.

Dear Editor:

As COVID-19 continues to be a risk, it is important for people to understand the parameters and effects it has on not just those who get it but the families of those infected with it. Although there is some controversy of whether people should wear a mask, in the Jewish community people look to their leaders for guidance during these trying times. Those leaders should set an example for their communities and not dismiss the importance of looking out for others. Rather, they should follow the rules and encourage others to do so, as well.

Dear Editor:

I write to you regarding last week’s issue (September 3) of the Queens Jewish Link, specifically Mr. Warren Hecht’s article: “Trump Family Hour.” As is (hopefully) clear by now, the current era is one in which literally everything, from pandemics to policing, is politicized, and we are all entitled to share our political opinions. That being said, the point at which a media outlet publishes material that is either false or grossly misconstrued represents a line that should never be crossed. Nevertheless, there are two particular claims Mr. Hecht makes, the publishing of which demonstrates a crossing of this line.
