A couple of weeks ago, I drove my daughter to her apartment on Yoni Netanyahu Street in Givat Shmuel. Gazing at the street sign hearkened me back to July 4, 1976, when we heard the miraculous news of the daring Operation Entebbe in which over 100 hostages were rescued. Sadly, Yoni Netanyahu, who led the elite commando unit, was killed during the mission.

In a way, Daniel Goldschmiedt and the modern State of Israel have grown up together. They both recently turned 75. Their Jewish identity is central to their lives. And now that Daniel and his wife Tzerel have made aliyah, a new chapter in the couple’s lives is about to be written.

Left-wing activists in New York City, disrupting subway services by jumping on the tracks during a clash with the police over the death of Jordan Neely. Neely died after a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Daniel Penny, subdued him with the help of another passenger when Neely began behaving aggressively and making threats in the subway.
