Throughout the year, the Back To The Future Rosh Chodesh Program at BYQ has been highlighting a famous woman each month. The girls have become familiar with these role models, learning about their outstanding midos and the mitzvos close to their hearts. Each month, they received a card with a picture of the woman on one side and important facts about her on the other. The girls have been collecting these cards and placing them in a plastic card sleeve.

On Sunday evening, May 22, Yeshiva Primary partnered with Chazaq for a beautiful open house at the school in Holliswood. Rabbi Avner Yusupov, Director of Development, welcomed everyone to this historic event in the school’s spacious ballroom. He pointed out that Chazaq initiated this event, and alumni of Yeshiva Primary, students, current parents and prospective parents, teachers and Chazaq staff, including Rabbi Yaniv Meirov, Chazaq Operations Manager, and Ephraim Rubinov, Director of Public School Transfer to Yeshivah, all joined together to show support for Yeshiva Primary. He then introduced Rabbi Zalmen Deutscher, Founder and Dean.

MTA is proud to introduce the Valedictorian, Salutatorian, and student speakers who will be presenting at this year’s 104^th Annual Commencement.

Throughout the year, eighth grade students at HALB learned about filming, editing, and interviewing. They interviewed Holocaust Survivors Mrs. Rochelle Gottlieb, Mrs. Claire Grunwald, Mr. Jacob Kaminetsky, Professor Asher Matathias, Mrs, Sally Muschel, Mrs. Frieda Slamovitz, and Mr. Shaya Slamovitz.

For the last month, Central seniors have participated in the annual post-Pesach Senior Seminar. The program is designed to target the needs and interests of the seniors as they transition into the “real world.” It is an opportunity to provide special programming and speakers to address this momentous transition in their lives.

The 7th grade was honored to have Rabbi Chaim Schwartz, Executive Vice President of the Vaad Harabonim of Queens, come to Bnos Malka to give a bug checking workshop. Rabbi Schwartz brought light boxes, cloths, strainers, loops, and more. He explained, “As the world moves further and further away from using insecticides the prevalence of finding bugs in our produce increases.” He demonstrated for the girls step by step how to effectively check for bugs. Each girl then got to soap her kale and strawberries, strain the water using the cloth method, and then took turns looking for bugs through a loop on the light boxes
