When North Shore Hebrew Academy High School students hit the basketball court for a game on a Sunday in May, the focus wasn’t on which team scored the most points. Instead, it was on unity. This was no ordinary game. The school hosted a delegation of about 20 players from Israel, all of whom had been impacted in some way by the horrific attacks of October 7.

Shira Ellenberg, Stella K. Abraham High School for Girls Valedictorian of the Class of 2024, is a well-rounded, outstanding student. In addition to her academic achievements, Shira is the 12th grade student council representative, an SKA school ambassador and a Shalom Task Force Purple Day Fellow.

All educators want to make sure that their students leave their class or school armed with the tools they will need when they move on in life. On May 22, the faculty and administration at the Machon Sarah TAG High School gave a special gift to their seniors just a few weeks before graduation. This was not an external gift that they were given, but rather the gift of revealing treasures that lie within them.

Students at SINAI at Yeshiva of Central Queens had the opportunity to debut their works of art at SINAI’s Unique Inspirations Student Art Show, sponsored by Bear Givers on May 22 at a private Queens home.

The HALB sports club enjoyed a fun and exciting evening at the Mets game last week. As a special gift, the Mets gave them special hats that had an Israeli flag and read “Mets” in Hebrew. The teachers, parents, and students all had a great time!

Achdus, hakaras hatov, and warm camaraderie were in the air at the 28th Annual Dinner of Bnos Malka Academy.  The event, held on May 21 at Da Mikelle Palazzo, honored community and faculty members for their exemplary service to the school and the community.
