Students at SINAI at Yeshiva of Central Queens had the opportunity to debut their works of art at SINAI’s Unique Inspirations Student Art Show, sponsored by Bear Givers on May 22 at a private Queens home.

The artwork was created by the students through SINAI’s Paley-Mironov Art Therapy Program.

A highlight of the SINAI academic year since 2014, the art show, sponsored by Bear Givers, was an opportunity for students, families, and community members to come together and celebrate the students’ artwork.

For many SINAI students, art is a tool that helps them communicate, making the messages on many of their canvases both meaningful and inspiring. “Art therapy helps our students manage their emotions, fostering self-awareness and self-worth,” noted art therapist Sarah Tarzik. “Engaging in art activities and using their creativity helps our students boost their confidence, connect with others, and make them feel more resilient while decreasing their stress and anxiety.”

Art shows featuring the work of SINAI students at its NJ schools and the Irving Montak SINAI School at SAR Academy were held earlier in the week in Bergenfield and Riverdale.

The students’ artwork is available to view online and to purchase on canvas, mug, mousepad, and greeting cards; visit sinaischools.org/2024-student-art-show-sinai-at-ycq. All proceeds support SINAI’s Paley-Mironov Art Therapy Program.
