On Motza’ei Shabbos, March 7, community members gathered at the home of Lew and Beth Gray in Kew Gardens Hills to hear Rabbi Dovid Goldwasser, well-known speaker and author, deliver an uplifting shiur on behalf of Our Jewish Children. The shiur was to commemorate the yahrzeit of Mr. Gray’s father, Shalom Shachnar ben Yaakov.

During this difficult time, the girls at the Bais Yaakov Academy of Queens were thinking of others and reaching out to them. Under the guidance of their teacher, Mrs. Shira Silber, the fifth graders decorated R’fuah Sh’leimah cards and posters conveying their good wishes and meaningful thoughts to those quarantined. The girls discussed how all Jews are one big family and care for each other.

On Taanis Esther, a group of Shevach High School students went to visit The Boulevard ALP to deliver mishloach manos provided by Agudath Israel of America, and to bring the spirit of Purim to the residents. With fun costumes and lively music, the elderly residents and the Shevach students alike had a memorable and uplifting experience.

During the last week in January, parents gathered in the Yeshiva Primary ballroom for a beautiful Chumash play and to watch their precious children who are in second grade at Yeshiva Primary receive their first chumash.

Bnos Malka Academy seventh grader Chaya Branower aced the competition at the New York Daily News Spelling Bee, taking second place in the citywide contest.
