Chazaq hosted its Second Annual 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament this past weekend, bringing together 24 competitive teams and hundreds of enthusiastic attendees for a fun-filled, family-friendly event that celebrated sports, community, and purpose.
This past Friday, Assemblymember Jenifer Rajkumar, recognized by her signature “woman in red” look, visited Kew Gardens Hills as part of her campaign for New York City Public Advocate. She spent a considerable amount of time engaging with local residents, visiting businesses, and walking along Main Street connecting.
On Sunday evening, June 8, Rabbi Paysach Krohn – well-known mohel, author, and speaker – addressed a crowd at Congregation Ohel Simcha on behalf of Chazaq. He spoke about emunah in challenging times. The shiur was dedicated in memory of Dora bas Zilpah, a strong woman who exemplified yir’as Shamayim and spiritual strength.

The Coalition for Jewish Values (CJV), representing over 2,500 traditional, Orthodox rabbis in American public policy, today unrolled a powerful new advertising campaign in the heart of Times Square, identifying “Free Palestine” as a call for genocide against Jews. The ten-second CJV ad will appear multiple times per hour for the next 30 days on one of Times Square’s most recognizable billboards and aims to raise awareness of the danger this movement poses to America.
On Sunday night, June 15, Rabbi Shmuel Marcus, Rav of the Young Israel of Queens Valley, delivered a passionate speech about the importance of taking responsibility for one another as a z’chus to dwell securely in the Land. Members of the community gathered at the Garber home in Kew Gardens Hills for a parlor meeting on behalf of Our Jewish Children, an organization that helps fund tuition for Jewish students transferring from public school to yeshivah.
