This past Sunday, Chazaq’s Pickleball Tournament transformed Queens College into a vibrant hub of sporting excitement and community spirit. Following the success of the Chazaq Basketball Tournament held in June, this event proved to be another resounding success, attracting over 15 competitive teams and a lively crowd of spectators.

In Tehillim, Psalm 27, David HaMelech beseeches, “Let me dwell in the House of Hashem all the days of my life, behold the pleasantness of Hashem, and to visit in His Sanctuary.” How can David HaMelech live somewhere permanently and yet merely be a visitor? Rabbi Zvi Sobolofksy explains that David HaMelech is asking Hashem to help him always have the excitement of a first-time experience when he serves Hashem. David HaMelech desires to be a dweller all of his days but yet never lose the passion of a visitor.

As he makes his second bid for the New York State Assembly in District 23, which covers the southern reaches of Queens and the Rockaways, Sullivan is both a familiar face and a determined challenger, intent on addressing the critical issues that affect his constituents.

Our Sages teach us (see Talmud Bavli, Bava Basra 14b) that King David wrote Psalms (T’hilim) based on his own experiences along with the contributions of other great Jewish figures. While the Book of T’hilim was composed mainly by King David, the Gemara, there, enumerates ten authors who composed Psalms other than King David.
