The Coalition for Jewish Values, representing over 2,500 traditional Orthodox rabbis in American public policy, today condemned the representative bodies of all three major non-Orthodox “denominations” for participating in a statement opposing the steps being taken by the Trump administration to confront the wave of anti-Semitic campus protests. That statement, issued by the Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA), took precisely the wrong approach to both suspensions of government funding and deportation of foreign nationals participating in anti-Semitic incitement.

New Documentary Follows Yeshiva University Maccabees Basketball Team in the Aftermath of October 7th Attacks on Israel

The documentary directed by Emmy award-winning filmmaker Pat Dimon spotlights Yeshiva University’s basketball team, the Maccabees, as they navigate their season following the October 7 terrorist attacks on Israel. Offering a look inside the private Orthodox Jewish university, based in New York City, Rebound follows the team as they dig deep to find the passion and dedication to succeed under the heartbreaking circumstances.

Local college students recently shared a milestone Shabbos of connection and unity when the Emet JBoard hosted its first Shabbaton in Jamaica Estates. Launched last fall, the JBoard is a collaboration of the dynamic student leaders at Queens College, St. John’s University, and Adelphi University together with Emet. The debut Shabbaton attracted 150 students and even had a waiting list! “The JBoard is an incredible initiative of student leadership that has taken campus associations to the next level,” said Rabbi Akiva Rutenberg, Emet Co-Founder and Director. “Emet has been working in tandem with the JBoard to bring Jewish programming to these campuses, and we are proud of their drive and determination.”

About 300 people took home free Kosher for Passover food packages at the Forest Hills Jewish Center on Sunday, April 6. Including their families, an estimated 1,000 people benefited.
