Regular college programming may be on hiatus over the summer, but at Emet Outreach there is always an opportunity to learn and connect. Introducing “Monday Night Live,” a new weekly program that has been attracting local college students for an evening of great food, powerful Torah insights, and real community.

Rabbi Reuven Kigel, Campus Director, shared, “Emet’s unique advantage is that our students are local, so even when they are off from school during the summer, we are still able to have a full program to keep them connected to learning Torah and to each other.”

Held on local rooftops when the weather permits, Monday Night Live is the perfect blend of meaningful content and relaxed summer vibes. The room buzzes with conversation, laughter, and the signature warmth of the Emet family. As Sara Benyamin, Emet’s Program Director, puts it, “Monday Night Live is a summer vibe for college students to get connected and be inspired. Even though it’s summer, Torah learning never stops. We created a program that would include both meeting friends and connecting with the Emet rabbis and staff. Every week has been another impactful event that has been bringing so many new college students to Emet.”

The night kicks off with a full buffet dinner, where existing Emet students can catch up and also meet new friends from the area. After dinner, the focus shifts direction. One of Emet’s incredible rabbis delivers a relevant and powerful message. These talks provide spiritual fuel for the week ahead and leave students thinking deeply and feeling uplifted. Topics have included “Gratitude,” “Joy and Meaning,” “From Darkness to Light,” and “Reaching Higher.” A recent evening featured an especially powerful moment as Rabbi Kigel led a ceremony, helping a young woman receive a Jewish name and embrace her Jewish identity in front of a room full of inspired peers.

Monday Night Live continues! College students may sign up at emetoutreach.org/MondayLive.
