We are so grateful that even in times of pandemic, hands-on laboratory science remains an integral part of our science curriculum at Yeshiva University High School for Girls. This week, two of our science classes engaged in hands-on biotechnology laboratory experiments at a full-day visit to the Dolan DNA Learning Center at Cold Spring Harbor.
This week at the Yeshiva of Central Queens, to help celebrate the month of Adar and to bring some spirit to a challenging school year, the elementary school students had superhero and sports hero day. Students and staff dressed as their favorite superhero or wore a sports jersey from their favorite team.
In Yeshiva Sha’arei Zion’s sixth grade, Hilchot Kashrut came alive with each group of students checking food items for bugs. They checked spinach, rice, lentils, barley, and beans.
The SIMCHAH CIRCUS program at the Bais Yaakov Academy of Queens was a smashing success! The school building was transformed into a colorful circus, featuring elephants, clowns, lions, and so much more!
On Tuesday, February 9, the Hebrew Academy of Long Beach held its fourth annual History Day Fair as part of the larger National History Day Competition. The National History Day Competition is an event in which more than a half a million students participate each year. The projects examine an event in history and how it relates to a national theme. For the past five months, under the guidance of their social studies teacher Ms. Kristen Waterman, the eighth grade students researched various events in history related to this year’s theme, Communication: The Key to Understanding.
