Over the last few weeks, the boys in Morah Bryna’s kindergarten class have been focusing on the unit of planting. They learned all about seeds and how they are planted. They discussed where seeds are found and what they need to grow into. Sometimes it is a tree, plant, or flower and always requires sun, water, and soil. The boys had the opportunity to germinate a bean.
Last Wednesday, Yeshiva Tiferes Moshe held its exciting Pesach Vacation Ki Heim Chayeinu Barbecue! Talmidim in grades 5-8 who learned and davened during Pesach break were treated to a special barbecue lunch in recognition of their accomplishments. They enjoyed hotdogs, hamburgers, French fries, chips, and ices. The Yeshiva was thrilled that over 100 boys participated in the program, and the Yeshiva is proud of their accomplishments! May the talmidim continue to shteig in their learning!
YSZ’s 4th grade rebbi, Rabbi Bronstein, was in Eretz Yisroel last weekend and davened at various mikomos haKedoshim, where he had his YSZ talmidim in mind.
The boys in Yeshiva Tiferes Moshe’s grades five through eight celebrated Rosh Chodesh Iyar with special breakfasts last week. On Sunday, the seventh and eighth grades were treated to hot bagels, cream cheese, chocolate milk, and cupcakes. They also had the opportunity to hear words of Torah from Rabbi Herschel Welcher, rav of Congregation Ahavas Yisroel.
On a beautiful spring day, SINAI@YCQ students celebrated Yom HaAtzmaut, Israeli Independence Day, with outdoor programming and inclusion activities with partner school students. What a fun chag!
“Remembrance days remind us of our ancestors, and how klal Yisrael as a nation has to always keep our past in mind, and follow our Mesorah,” stated Rabbi Moshe Hamel, Assistant Principal, JHS Judaic Studies. The Yeshiva of Central Queens had a meaningful day commemorating Yom HaShoah and the six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust. Students across all grades had age-appropriate discussions and ceremonies to recognize this important day. Grades 3-4 participated in a meaningful ceremony with speeches from rebbeim and students honoring their family members with a special candle lighting ceremony. T’hilim were recited throughout the day, honoring the six million Jews who died, and the heroism of the survivors and rescuers.
