During the days of Chanukah, eighth grade students at Bnos Malka Academy had the opportunity to interview Holocaust survivors as part of Names, Not Numbers© – an interactive, multi-media Holocaust project created by educator Tova Fish-Rosenberg.

Chanukah at SKA was an absolute blast! It is always a highlight of the school year, and this Chanukah was no exception.

SKA’s Chanukah programming kicked off on Monday, December 19, with breakfasts at teachers’ homes. Each faculty member who hosted prepared a delicious breakfast with a whole array of foods for students to enjoy. Some of the options included yogurt parfaits, bagels, doughnuts, pancakes, and more. It was such an amazing opportunity for students to connect with teachers outside of a school setting.

On Tuesday, December 20, for its annual Chanukah Chagigah, Shevach High School was transformed into “Flame” (or was that Fame?), an upscale clothing store. The Shevach chagigah heads – Tehilla Aranov, Gitty Hellman, Devora Trop, and Sarah Wiederkehr – under the direction of Shevach Educational Administrator Mrs. Devorah Kovitz, did an amazing job turning the Multi-Purpose Room into a stunning boutique. While browsing around, the students were treated to a delectable feast featuring doughnuts, latkes, candy, and personalized Flame cookies.

Chanukah in MTA was epic! With incredible programing throughout the week, the talmidim and faculty enjoyed the festive atmosphere and took chizuk from a beautiful yom tov.

Students from SKA brought excitement and fun to Lamplighter Hebrew Academy this week. They joined students to create special Chanukah projects. The Lamplighter students were so excited to welcome visitors to the school. SKA students created a wonderful Chanukah atmosphere!

December has been an exciting, inspiring time at Central: Preparations for midterms have been accompanied by the fun and excitement of holiday programming.
