On Wednesday evening, March 19, community members gathered at Yeshiva Kesser Torah’s commemoration of the sixth yahrzeit of Rav Elyakim Getzel Rosenblatt zt”l, Founder and Rosh Yeshivah of Yeshiva Kesser Torah in Queens. The event was both live and on Zoom.

In a recent meeting focused on the continued growth and impact of Chaverim of Queens and Great Neck, local leaders and community representatives came together to discuss the organization’s expanding role and explore ways to strengthen its operations and reach.

While representing the 18^th Congressional District in the House of Representatives, Nita Lowey would say she was the Congresswoman from the “Chai District.” It was more than a play on words over the number of the district she represented; during the course of a lengthy career, Nita Lowey made a substantial contribution to the safety and security of Israel and the Jewish community in New York.

Sh’foch chamascha al ha’goyim asher lo y’da’ucha – Pour out Your wrath upon the nations that do not recognize You” (T’hilim 79:6). Klal Yisrael, on the other hand, has a completely different reaction. When we are faced with sorrows, we call out and turn to Hashem and His Torah, as David HaMelech stated, “Tzarah v’yagon emtza, u’v’sheim Hashem ekra – I will find troubles and sorrows, and I will call out in Hashem’s name” (T’hilim 117:13).

This year’s World Zionist Congress election is the most confusing one in history.  A lot of the confusion is happening because nine new slates sprung up, many of whom sound alike, or do not make it clear where they stand on the real issues that come up at the World Zionist Congress.  

Purim celebrations were meaningful and engaging for students and alumni of Emet Outreach. The simchah started at Queens College before the chag for members of the Emet Student Association (ESA) and the jHealth program.
