Dear Editor:

In last week’s QJL, Goldy Krantz’s article was entitled “The Truth Will Set You Free.” Perhaps unbeknownst to her, that phrase is verbatim a passage from the Christian Bible (John 8:32), specifically a quote from Yeishu. While a verse from the Christian Bible alone would be bad enough as a QJL article title, the verse itself implies a message completely anathema to everything we believe as Jews - namely, that knowledge of and faith in Yeishu as messiah and son of god (kivyachol, Rachmana L’tzlan) creates a firm basis for one’s life.  Her apparent innocuous intentions notwithstanding, Ms. Krantz should be much more careful with which phrases and expressions she chooses to employ for her articles.

Dear Editor:

As avid weekly readers of the “Dating Today” column in the QJL, we were disheartened to read the antagonistic letter directed at Goldy Krantz two weeks ago. We want to express our support for Goldy and her invaluable contributions to our community.

Dear Editor:

About 15 years before Donald Trump uprooted the status quo by calling out all the fake news in the mainstream media, Bernie Goldberg, the longtime executive producer for CBS Evening News anchor Dan Rather, authored a book titled, Bias: A CBS Insider Exposes How the Media Distort the News. One of his main contentions in the book was how the mainstream media curates the news by including stories that fit the desired narrative, while excluding stories that challenge or run contrary to the narrative.

Dear Editor:

I have read with interest and appreciation the comments of Rav Yoel Schonfeld, in your issue prior to Pesach, regarding the importance of proper dress during davening. A letter to the editor took issue with Rabbi Schonfeld and felt that a person should dress, while davening, in a way that makes one feel “comfortable.”
