As 2024 draws to a close, it seems impossible to remember all that occurred within it. Wars, assassination, and elections are the most obvious, but there were also forgotten stories, both big and small, that should be remembered as well. Upon reflection, this year was a transitional one for not only the nation, but for the world.
One lone man standing up to the ancient world’s superpower, shouting, “Mi LaShem Eilai! I’m going to fight for my G-d and His Torah!”
One small country staring down the modern world’s hatred, declaring, “We’re going to fight and we’re going to survive!”

A horrifying incident occurred in the New York City subway where a woman was tragically set on fire while sleeping on an F train at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue station. The alleged perpetrator, identified as a migrant from Guatemala, approached the victim, who was seated quietly at the end of the subway car, and used a lighter to ignite her clothing, leading to her death at the scene.
