Reading Warren Hecht’s recent article entitled “Standards” leaves me scratching my head and wondering, Does Warren Hecht read what he himself is writing?

 For any cynical people who have lost their faith in humanity for one bad reason or another, please take note of the following. The values and teachings of the members of the Jewish faith and culture have it right. Within that community exists an honesty and neighborly love for one another that warrants admiration and emulation. This has always been true, but recently I have found reason to strongly confirm my belief.

 In his article on the special election for the 27^th Assembly District, Sergey Kandinsky, in contrasting this upcoming election with that in District 20 in the Five Towns, identifies the Republican Party as “the party of Donald Trump,” in contrast to the Democratic Party, which he characterizes as “more pragmatic,” as if Republicans in the Assembly cannot or would not advocate for Israel, anti-Semitism, yeshivah curricula, and resources for non-profits.

 Queens Hatzolah has been receiving complaints from civilians and police about alleged Hatzalah members who are abusing lights and siren privileges. We were provided with license plate numbers of the perpetrators.

 I share Jason Stark’s disappointment with the audible silence and lack of accountability taken by our communal leadership, for their bizarre and harmful public stances relating to Covid.

Dear Editor:

 This is a letter I never wanted to write. My husband Michoel passed away last week. I hate the term, “I lost my husband,” because I never did. For those of you who knew him, he was a tzadik, and I don’t use that term lightly. He learned day and night and was humble about all his accomplishments.
