HANC High School’s Purim festivities do not stop at the amazing Purim Chagigah. For us, Purim is a season of celebration, with a week of costumes and festivities leading up to Purim day. One of our highlights was the incredible senior break-fast at Coffee Bar of Lawrence after the conclusion of Taanis Esther. Seniors and staff alike davened Maariv and broke their fasts on incredible pastas, pizzas, and salads. While they ate, they had the privilege of being entertained and mesmerized by the renowned mentalist Marc Salem, who dazzled everyone!

MTA is excited to announce the hiring of alumnus Rabbi Yehuda Balsam (’94) as rebbi and Rosh Beis Midrash of the yeshivah, beginning September 2024.

The solar eclipse this week provided a marvelous educational opportunity. Teachers diligently explained the intricate orbits of the Sun and Moon, along with the science behind the harmful effects of gazing directly at the eclipse. It was also a moment to, once again, recognize the awe-inspiring wonder of creation: “Ma Rabu Ma’asecha Hashem.”

It’s springtime at the Yeshiva University High School for Girls (Central), which means a flurry of much-anticipated events: Color War, Senior Seminar, Envision Shakespeare, and the spring sports season. But there’s one performance that has a special place in Central culture: the annual spring musical.

The YCQ Seventh and Eighth Grade Boys Shabbaton was a spectacular success, featuring unparalleled levels of ruach, inspiration, and camaraderie.

YSZ prioritizes education that resonates with the students' interests and preferences, ensuring an engaging and effective learning experience. In Rabbi Braun's class this week, the 4th graders embarked on a hands-on adventure in honor of Pesach. With Rabbi Braun's guidance, the students dove into the process of making grape juice from scratch, an activity that not only connected them to the traditions of the holiday but also instilled a sense of accomplishment and connection to their heritage. With grapes and utensils provided by Rabbi Braun, the classroom buzzed with excitement as the students eagerly participated in every step of the process. Through this interactive and enjoyable approach to learning, YSZ aims to cultivate not only knowledge but also a lifelong love for exploration and discovery among students.
