On Sunday evening, September 29, at 7:00 p.m., Rabbi Aryeh Lebowitz, Rosh Yeshivah and Abraham Arbesfeld Torah Dean of the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary of Yeshiva University and Rav of the Beis HaKnesses of North Woodmere, will give the second annual Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills Pre-Rosh HaShanah Shiur.

As the new school year approaches, Chazaq has once again dedicated the summer months to encourage parents of public school students to make the transition to a yeshivah education. In their continuing effort to engage with leadership, Chazaq, the Queens-based organization dedicated to supporting the Jewish community, arranged a meeting with Ofir Akunis, the Consul General of Israel in New York. The focus of our discussions was particularly pressing: the challenges facing Jews in a post 10/7 world. Special emphasis was placed on Jewish students on America’s college campuses, with a spotlight on Columbia University.
