The girls in Ms. Eskenazi’s third grade class at Yeshivat Ohr Haiim completed their Social Studies chapter on Timelines. They put their new skills to use in a meaningful culminating project. Each girl made a timeline of her life so far. Each girl had to choose six to eight important events from her life. They asked their families for the dates and details when needed.

Yeshiva Tiferes Moshe’s 7th and 8th grade boys had the privilege of being addressed by Rabbi Shmuel Marcus, the rav of the Young Israel of Queens Valley. Rabbi Marcus spoke about the value of perseverance and resilience. The rabbi told an inspirational story of a blind boy, who after several failed attempts, managed to win the Chidon HaTanach. The 5th and 6th graders heard an amazing story from Rabbi Becker about a soldier’s attitude of taking life’s challenges one problem at a time.

HANC Middle School’s Eighth Grade Graduation took place on Thursday, June 16, in the tent outside Shulamith Long Island. The tent was adorned with balloons and “2022.” The graduates looked extremely proud as they walked down the aisle, and their parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents were certainly shepping a lot of nachas.

On Tuesday, June 7, The YCQ Grade 6 girls celebrated a Chagigat B’not Mitzvah Dinner in the Yeshiva of Central Queens auditorium. This event marks the midway point of the bas mitzvah season for our Grade 6 girls. As each student becomes a bas mitzvah, YCQ presents the opportunity and guidance to research, through interviewing their parents and grandparents, why their parents decided to give them their unique names. In celebration of their research, YCQ invited the students and all adult female relatives to the celebratory dinner, in appreciation of the presence of “L’Dor VaDor” (“from generation to generation”) in every bas mitzvah experience. The YCQ Chagigat B’Not Mitzvah Dinner is the culmination of a project that expressed the values and hopes of past, present, and future generations.
