Scientific research and independent study have taken a huge leap this year at the Stella K. Abraham High School for Girls. Under the direction of Research Coordinator Dr. Salvatore Parrino and Science Department Chair Dr. Chana Glatt, over 30 SKA students are already participating in this ongoing initiative.

On Tuesday, December 14, Nissim Black visited Ezra Academy High School in Forest Hills, where he discussed the trials and tribulations of his life and his rise from a secular rapper to a mainstream Jewish singer. The students listens intently as he gave details of his life.

Exciting things have been happening at the Young Israel Queens Valley. Last Motza’ei Shabbos, the shul invited mothers and daughters for an evening of painting and bonding with Mrs. Devora Rhodes. Fifty-three mothers and daughters were in attendance.

It’s all hands on deck when eighth graders make their annual campus visit to Central. Faculty, administration, and current student ambassadors work together to welcome prospective students and put our (collective) best foot forward.

Mazal tov to the 38 new members of the Stella K. Abraham High School for Girls Re’ut Chapter of the National Honor Society! Membership to the National Honor Society is based on scholarship, leadership abilities, character, and service to the school and community.

Over the summer of 2022, the Yeshiva of Central Queens (YCQ) carried out an extraordinary modernization project, which improved heating, air conditioning, ventilation, lighting, computer technology, and classroom/faculty space. YCQ welcomed students back on the first day of school – September 6.
