National Police Week occurs every May, and is observed at the National Law Enforcement Police Memorial, located at Judiciary Square, Washington, D.C. This year, National Police Week was observed from May 11–17. The National Law Enforcement Museum and associated organizations held ceremonies, including the 34th Annual Candlelight Vigil, to honor the fallen officers whose names have recently been added to the memorial.

The Margaret Tietz Nursing and Rehabilitation Center hosted an annual memorial service for Yom HaShoah this past Thursday, April 28. The Remembrance Day for Jewish Martyrdom and Heroism included the participation of residents, rabbis, elected officials, and survivors of Nazi brutality.

National Small Business Week began this past Monday with a kickoff forum at the General Society Hall in Manhattan on Friday. The event united Jewish community leaders, city, and state officials to raise awareness of resources and services available to business owners throughout the state and allowed them to network as they continue to recover from the pandemic and seek new growth opportunities as they are at the core of the city’s path to rebuild and reinvent herself.
