Chazaq, along with Chickens for Shabbos, organized and executed seven distributions at Congregation Ner Mordechai this year for m’lamdim, g’rushos, and agunos.

Yeshivat Tiferet Torah of Monsey, under the leadership of Rabbi Nissan Hakakian, recently held a special siyum masechet. The yeshivah strives to instill the Sephardic heritage in the bachurim. In honor of the occasion, the talmidim put out a kuntris and were awarded a sefer.

On Thursday June 17, this writer had the honor of meeting with Rabbi Aharon Yehoshua Pessin, well-known speaker and author, to discuss his holy work. I had the privilege two years earlier of hearing Rabbi Pessin speak at Lenox Hill Hospital at a class given to medical staff, family, and friends as a z’chus for a r’fuah sh’leimah for a wonderful friend, who has since passed away.

Our Sages say that the Jewish wife and mother is the sole source of blessing in the home (Bava M’tzia 59a). While every member of the family has his or her unique role and responsibility to play, it is the Jewish wife and mother who has the power to not only frame what is happening but write the script. It is she who sets the tone in the home. What her family will become is to a large extent dependent on who she is, what she knows, and where she is going. This is a woman’s strength and the key to shalom bayis.

Touro College Division of Graduate Studies (DGS) celebrated the achievements of 1,300 graduates from its six schools at the division’s second virtual commencement, held Thursday, June 17.

The Bukharian community shared a joyous l’chaim with mayoral candidate Eric Adams this past Monday evening at the Forest Hills home of Mr. and Mrs. David Koptiev. The venue has been the destination of other influential political get-togethers and seemed most apropos for a formal Adams endorsement.
