On Thursday evening, April 27, Congregation Etz Chaim hosted a virtual lecture on head and neck cancer basics with Dr. Baoqing Li, Clinical Director of Radiology Oncology at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital. Dr. Li shared that the most common site for head and neck cancer is the skin on the cheeks, lips, or chin.
On Monday evening, April 17, the Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills hosted a virtual event commemorating Yom HaShoah. Rabbi Ari Schonfeld welcomed everyone. The event was organized by Rabbi Yoel Schonfeld, Rabbi Emeritus of the Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills, Rabbi Moshe Rosenberg, Rabbi of Congregation Etz Chaim, and Rabbi Shmuel Marcus, Rabbi of the Young Israel of Queens Valley.
Rabbi Shais Taub, weekly columnist in Ami Magazine and well-known speaker, shared an interactive virtual shiur on a man’s role in frum families. The shiur was hosted by Let’s Get Real With Coach Menachem.
On Tuesday evening, April 18, Chazaq hosted a beautiful shiur l’zeicher nishmas Luba bat Mazal at the Beth Gavriel Center.
On Wednesday evening, April 26, Congregation Ahavas Yisroel celebrated its 36th anniversary Journal Dinner at the Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills. The guests of honor were Dr. Richard and Batya Gewanter.
Are King Charles and Prince William or Prince Harry visiting our neighborhood? No, but our community is filled with royalty. We left Mitzrayim to be free so we could serve the true Master, Hashem, as His royal servants. We can see this so clearly in Queens, where there is so much chesed that Hashem has to be smiling.
