Now that summer is once again upon us, a lot of people are wondering, “Should I go to a bungalow?” And the answer is: It’s too late.  If you try to get a bungalow now, all you’re going to end up with is some dinky little house way out in the boondocks with no air conditioning or functioning door locks and an insufficient number of bedrooms.

When my wife and I went to buy couches recently, we found that there are basically two kinds of couches: the ones we like, and the ones we can fit in our living room.

There are a lot of interesting bar mitzvah minhagim that people have, and one of them is for the father to stand up and thank the mother for doing everything.

I’ve never really been a big hiking person.  The way I see it, most places you go are technically hiking.  A zoo is hiking with guaranteed animals.  A mall is indoor hiking with gradually-increased weightlifting.  But the activity we call “hiking” is just the hiking part.  Nothing else.
