When bumper magnets, tattoos, and shirts are not enough to express one’s dissent against the Trump administration, Democratic Party activists have another fundraising tool for the highest bidder: #Resist Paddles.
“We may not carry the cane of Al Green when we protest, but the silence of paddles with slogans spoke louder than words,” one activist said. “Now you can play table tennis with Resist and Save Medicaid.”
From the Upper East Side to Southampton, Resist Paddles inspired by last week’s Democratic protest in Congress are serving up politics on the court. Proceeds from the sale of the paddles will be used for a variety of liberal causes, including lawsuits against DOGE, defending anti-Israel campus demonstrators, and transgender athletes competing against actual women.
“What better way to stand up for working people than by waving a Musk Lies paddle at a Sotheby’s art auction?” a prominent Democratic donor remarked. “Picasso was wealthy, too, but he was very progressive.”
