Cantor Nissim Saal, renowned for his exceptional vocal range and versatility, is set to lead an uplifting Shabbos of chazanus and song at the Young Israel of Jamaica Estates. This special event will take place on January 31 and February 1, Shabbos Parshas Bo.

The event schedule will begin with minchah and kabbalat Shabbos at 4:55 p.m. with an oneg at 8:00 p.m. Shacharis begins at 9:00 with a kiddush to follow. Minchah with seudah shlishis will start at 4:45 p.m.

Born and raised in Monroe, New York, Saal was deeply influenced by the legendary cantor Yossele Rosenblatt, whose captivating performances inspired his passion for cantorial music, amongst others.  His vocal prowess spans over four octaves, and perfect coloratura, enabling him to perform ever so eloquently. Nissim hit the music world by storm with the release of his songs online.

Nissim’s illustrious career includes performances at prestigious venues such as the Tel Aviv Heichal HaTarbut (Hall of Culture), the Israeli Opera House, and performances at Binyanei Hauma (the International Convention Center) in Yerushalayim, as well as all over the world including Australia, Poland, Amsterdam, London, Montreal, and many cities in the U.S.

In 2023, Nissim delivered the “Kel Maleh Rachamim” prayer at the United Nations in New York during the International Holocaust Remembrance Day ceremony. Nissim lives with his family in New York and, since 2023, is the Chief Chazan at the legendary Yeshurun Central Synagogue in Yerushalayim, attracting large audiences with his dynamic renditions.

Beyond cantorial music, Nissim maintains an interest in a variety of musical styles, including Chassidic opera and classics, and has just released a non-chazanus song, “V’asayem Betifilah,” to rave reviews. Search YouTube for a glimpse of his musical style.
