On Wednesday night, September 20, Congregation Ohel Sara hosted an overflow crowd of community women gathered to hear an inspiring shiur by Rebbetzin Slovie Jungreis Wolff. The shiur, titled “Better Your Relationships, Better Your Year,” was hosted by Chazaq, Amudim, and UJA.

On Monday evening, October 16, the Rabbi Fabian Schonfeld Educational Center organized a virtual lecture with Rabbi Zvi Gluck, CEO of Amudim. Amudim focuses on helping children suffering from trauma in the United States and in Eretz Yisrael.

On Monday night, October 9, the Young Israel of Queens Valley overflowed with community members gathering in support of Israel to recite T’hilim together and to hear words of hisorerus from Rabbi Herschel Welcher, Rav of Congregation Ahavas Yisrael, and Rabbi Doniel Lander, Rosh HaYeshivah of Yeshiva Ohr HaChaim. The event was hosted by the Vaad Harabonim of Queens and Rabbanei KGH.

On Sunday night, October 15, Let’s Get Real With Coach Menachem featured a supportive virtual shiur featuring Rabbi YY Jacobson, well-known speaker, Dean of yeshiva.net and maggid shiur at Beis Medrash Ohr Chaim in Monsey, Dr. Akiva Perlman, LCSW, PhD, and Clinical Director of Social work at ODA, and Mr. Eli Beer, founder of United Hatzalah of Israel.

Our friend Stuart Schnee shared a Zoom conference with family and friends to tell what its been like the past few days in Israel. He shared how much it means to people in Israel to know that we are there for them and supporting them. Our whole community is davening, and davening for a quick end to this horror!

On Wednesday evening, October 11, Rabbi Fischel Schachter, well-known speaker, storyteller, and author, shared divrei chizuk at Yeshiva Ohr Yitzchok in Brooklyn. He shared a quote of what President George W. Bush said after 9/11. “The sun has set on a different America.” Rav Schachter said, “This Simchas Torah, the sun set on a different klal Yisrael.” He said that today it’s a different world. It’s out of the range of what we can absorb.
