On Pesach, Chabad of Briarwood brought together hundreds of local families for a Yom Tov filled with joy, meaning, and unity. Led by Rabbi Dovi and Rebbetzin Chani Steinmetz, the neighborhood celebrated as one community, a theme reflected in every program and act of kindness.

In the days before the chag, the Chabad emissaries, who have served the community for over a decade, distributed over 1,000 handmade shmurah matzah sets to their followers. Elderly residents, homebound individuals, and struggling families received these packages with dignity, reinforcing their place within klal Yisrael.

Children took part in a lively Model Matzah Bakery, gaining hands-on experience with the mitzvah of matzah. With flour on their hands and smiles on their faces, they learned the importance of z’rizus and hiddur mitzvah while connecting to the story of Yetzias Mitzrayim.

The Chabad Hebrew School focused its spring programming on Pesach preparation. Students created seder-themed projects, practiced Mah Nishtanah, and explored the spiritual significance of Pesach in a warm, pride-filled environment.

During Yom Tov, Chabad hosted community sedarim, offering a welcoming space for those who might have been alone. Dozens of men, women, and children joined for an inspiring seder with divrei Torah, uplifting niggunim, tasty food, and a strong sense of belonging.

Throughout the eight days of Pesach, Chabad delivered fresh Yom Tov meals to the elderly, homebound, and families in need, ensuring the community was supported with care and compassion.

A highlight of the Yom Tov was the seudas Moshiach on acharon shel Pesach, held after minchah on Sunday, April 20. Following the Baal Shem Tov’s tradition, participants gathered for a festive meal with matzah, four cups of wine, and stirring Chassidishe hisorerus. The melodies and divrei Torah created a deep yearning for g’ulah, filling the room with spiritual light and unity.

Since starting their shlichus, Rabbi Dovi and Rebbetzin Chani Steinmetz have built Chabad of Briarwood into a dynamic, welcoming center for Yiddishkeit. Their dedication has created a space where Jews of all backgrounds can learn, grow, and experience Torah life with warmth, accessibility, and genuine ahavas Yisrael.

Chabad of Briarwood’s Pesach programming went beyond logistics—it lifted hearts, strengthened community, and reminded every Jew of their value. From children rolling dough to elderly neighbors receiving matzah, this Yom Tov captured the spirit of the community.
