It is special when Hashem gives you the opportunity to thank someone who has changed your life. Yeshiva Kesser Torah’s Rabbi and Rebbetzin, Rabbi Elyakim Rosenblatt zt”l and Rebbetzin Trani Rosenblatt, have changed so many people’s lives, including the lives of this writer and her family, and the rosh yeshivah’s legacy continues to impact our community.
On Sunday evening, January 29, Let’s Get Real With Coach Menachem featured Rabbi Dovid Goldwasser, well-known speaker and author, on the topic of “Bridging Our Pain And Suffering” and “Living Through The Birth Pangs of the Messianic Era.” The program began with the recitation of T’hilim 121.
On Tuesday evening, January 31, community women gathered at the Agudath Israel of Queens, located in the Yeshiva of Central Queens building, in spite of the freezing temperatures, to hear an enlightening shiur from Rabbi Mordechai Finkelman shlita, well-known speaker and educator, Mashgiach at Yeshivas Ohr HaChaim.
Yeshiva Kesser Torah, nestled in the center of Kew Gardens Hills in a small house with a big heart, hosts the most minyanim in the neighborhood. The Yeshiva’s history began decades ago, under the direction of the Rosh HaYeshiva, Rabbi Elyakim Getzel Rosenblatt zt”l.
On Sunday evening, January 8, Let’s Get Real With Coach Menachem featured Rabbi Sholom Dovber Lipskar, the founder and rav of The Shul of Bal Harbour in Surfside, Florida, and of the Aleph Institute (in 1981). He spoke about why anti-Semitism is overrated. He explained that it is overrated in terms of how it affects us as Jews. Haters have to be addressed in sharp, straightforward ways, but we need to make sure it doesn’t affect how we view our own identity as Jews. Anti-Semitism is the longest existing irrational hatred. It has led to holocausts, exploitation, expulsions, etc.
On Tuesday evening, January 10, the Navigating the Medical System Lecture Series, hosted by Congregation Etz Chaim, shared an informative virtual lecture on safe use and disposal of medication. Dr. Mel Breite, Founder and Director of the series, welcomed everyone and introduced the guest speaker, Wing Fun Leo-to, PharmD, BCPSN, Pharmacy Manager at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital,
