  Over 300 Queens residents listened and learned at the fourth annual Eldercare Expo and Conference for seniors and their caregivers at the Queens College Fitzgerald Gym this past Sunday, November 17. Shea Rubenstein, Executive Vice President of the JCC of Marine Park, observed that “it was great to see such a diverse crowd” attend the eldercare conference and discover new opportunities from the “important topics covered at the day’s seminars.”

The Apple Bank Forest Hills and Kew Gardens branches held their joint AppleConnect ’19 event on Wednesday evening, October 30, at the 102-35 Queens Boulevard location in Forest Hills. Key members of the community met and mingled with Apple bankers and customers, entrepreneurs, and business owners in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. The glatt kosher hors d’oeuvres from the bank’s neighbor, Da Mikelle Restaurant, were certainly appreciated by attendees. Queens Jewish Link co-publisher Yaakov Serle won the Apple iPad drawing.

Hundreds of people gathered to celebrate the 25^th (Silver) Anniversary of the Rachel’s Children Reclamation Foundation (RCRF) on Motza’ei Shabbos, November 9, at the Manhattan Beach Jewish Center, to commemorate the yahrzeit of Rachel Imeinu (11 MarCheshvan), making it a special night to remember. The overflow crowd of nearly 300 people joined the Master of Ceremonies, activist Dr. Paul Brody, and his lovely wife Drora, as the evening got underway.

Rabbi Judah Kerbel became just the seventh rabbi hired at the Queens Jewish Center since the synagogue’s establishment in 1943. Rabbi Joseph Grunblatt was their longest serving spiritual leader, from 1967 to 2006.
