High school may be over for the recent graduates of the Stella K. Abraham High School for Girls, but they’ll always be a part of the SKA community!

Ashrei is a special prayer formed from three different psalms. The main body is Psalm 145 and there are verses added from Psalms 84 and 144. Ashrei contains words of recognition praising G-d, Who prepares sustenance for all living beings. It is written in the order of the Alef-Beis, which is the order of the entire universe. This Psalm represents the belief that all is in its proper order as divined by Hashem (Reb Tzadok, Tzidkas HaTzadik 208).

Stay-cation wasn’t too bad after all! Yachad Long Island provided a weekly “Summer Tuesday” series to provide entertainment, socialization, and positivity for both high school students and Yachad members.

The city of Pinsk in Belarus may seem a very unlikely place for a siyum haShas, but quietly out of the spotlight, a beautiful Torah community has sprouted forth from the ruins of Communism, and limud haTorah is thriving in Pinsk.

Yeshivat Ohr Haiim has been a fixture in the Queens Jewish yeshiva system for 35 thriving years. The yeshiva stands true to its moto of providing a “premiere torah education in the true Sephardic tradition.” This past Sunday evening, August 25th, the community at large joined for the grand opening of the state-of-the-art yeshiva facility. The gathering was graced by past and present faculty and student body all aiming to deliver every Jewish child the Jewish teachings they deserve.
