Funding Made Possible by US Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer, a Longtime Supporter of Ohel, Will Support the Maintenance of the Camp Kaylie Campgrounds

Ohel Children’s Home and Family Services announced the approval of a $495,000 grant to support the organization’s Camp Kaylie, located in Wurtsboro, New York. The funding was secured by US Senator Majority Leader Charles Schumer in the 2022 federal budget.

Tuvia Gubin has long been a personality in Kew Gardens Hills. In celebration of his 42nd birthday, Tuvia invited close friends to Max & Mina's on Main Street for a special celebration. Guests included Jay Kestenbaum, co-president of Ohel Bais Ezra, Gabe Solomon, Five Towns and Long Island distributor of the Queens Jewish Link, Yaakov Serle, co-publisher of the Queens Jewish Link, and renowned orator Rabbi Dovid Goldwasser. On Tuesday evening, March 22, Yeshiva Kesser Torah hosted a virtual third yahrzeit commemoration of the Rosh Yeshivah of Yeshiva Kesser Torah, Rav Elyakim Getzel Rosenblatt zt”l. Rabbi Sholom Steinig, rav of the Young Israel of Bayside, spoke eloquently about his memories of Rabbi Rosenblatt. He shared that Rabbi Rosenblatt was an important community leader and a mentor and guide, and an example for the whole community.

It seems that Nassau County is also subject to the recent spike in violent crime. The recently-opened Seasons Express on West Broadway in Woodmere fell victim to an armed robbery on Monday evening, March 28.

There’s perhaps nothing more powerful than beholding the sweet innocence of children as they embrace the depth and beauty of their heritage. Sunday’s Chagigat Chumash at YSZ was truly special.
