Make no mistake about it: This is not your “regular” war. Iran is the self-proclaimed leader of the Islamic world, and for decades, they have financially supported terror regimes across the Middle East. They have just one goal in mind: to bring their ancestor Haman’s dream to fruition. Over 2,500 years ago, the King of Persia (modern-day Iran) approved his minister’s plan to “destroy, kill, and exterminate all of the Jews, from young to old, children and women.” And while - Baruch Hashem - that plan failed, today’s modern-day Haman is convinced he can be the one to complete the job.

So you are doing Pesach the traditional way - at home with the generations. You’ve cleaned the house, taken out your Pesach utensils, cooked the traditional dishes, and prepared for the guests, both family and friends. The table is set with fancy accoutrements, and new holiday clothing is ready.

The tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk is still being covered by Israeli news. Articles, pictures, and videos have been posted on countless sites, and many leaders – including Prime Minister Netanyahu and Israel’s Chief Rabbi – expressed their grief over his loss. All this coverage really surprised me, since the overwhelming majority of Israelis had never heard of him before he was murdered. Good friends of mine, including successful attorneys and businessmen, only discovered who Charlie was after it was too late, and only now have started watching his videos and reading his powerful words.

“This is what my mother taught me,” insisted Bethia as she refused a financial reward for returning a missing wallet to its owner. “I did it because it’s the right thing to do, not for payment.”

Most of us are focused on getting to Pesach at this time of year. We are cleaning, shopping, cooking, and preparing for company with long task lists to accomplish. Our goal is coming to seder night with a chometz-free home, to tell the story of our redemption from Egypt and our formation as a holy nation with our generations at our sides. Our goal is to perform the mitzvos of the  night together with grandparents and grandchildren.

Borekas are seriously one of my ultimate favorite appetizer dishes in the world. This version is filled with spiced meat and nuts. Might sound a little wacky, but it’s awesome! I decided to make a family-size braided one, you know, just for fun. You won’t believe how easy it is to make, guys!
