At Queens Cheder Moshe Raya Mehemina, the Pre-1A class is nearing the end of the alef-beis! This past week, the boys focused on the letter yud – and found that many of their own names begin with that very letter: Yisachar, Yehoshua, Yonatan, Yehudah, and Yosef!
Rabbi Jacobovitch and the boys explored Parshas Vayakhel and excitedly learned about Parshas Parah. They were fascinated to discover that B’nei Yisrael donated so generously to the Mishkan that Moshe Rabbeinu was forced to tell them to stop! In k’riah, the class has been deep in chazarah, with a focus on n’kudos, osiyos, and sounding out words with multiple syllables.
In math, the class has been mastering addition and subtraction and just began an exciting new calendar unit, learning about days, weeks, months, and years. The week was made even more special with a birthday celebration for Asher Borukhov!
